Strengthening Security for a FoodTech Company's AWS Infrastructure

Background:
Our client, a UK-based FoodTech company specializing in food company audits, sought expertise in configuring the security aspects of their AWS services for a bespoke SaaS web app. Despite lacking detailed documentation and architecture diagrams, the client aimed to fortify their infrastructure, covering GuardDuty, firewall, antivirus, DLP, and other security measures across 20+ AWS services within a single AWS account.

Challenges:
The primary challenge was conducting an AWS security audit without pre-existing documentation, making it imperative to identify vulnerabilities and security gaps across the client’s extensive AWS landscape. This included addressing security issues, as well as conducting a WordPress site audit.

Solution:
Our team delivered a detailed security report, outlining findings and a comprehensive action list. Additionally, we provided non-AWS security recommendations encompassing documentation, architecture diagrams, inventory management, incident and security management processes, backup, and patch management processes. The meticulous implementation of these recommendations aimed to create a robust security posture for the client’s AWS infrastructure.

Results:
Following the implementation phase, the client experienced transformative results. The fortified infrastructure successfully mitigated 5 critical, 2 high, 12 medium, and 16 low security issues, meeting regulatory and partner compliance requirements. The WordPress site audit findings were addressed, securing the client’s online presence.
